Holland & Barrett to open concessions at NEXT stores
Holland & Barrett is opening new concessions in partnership with NEXT in an attempt to reach new customers.
The first "store within a store" opens today, 10 July, at NEXT's Martlesham Heath branch in Ipswich, with another two concessions set to launch this summer.
The concessions will offer shoppers a range of 1,000 health and wellness products, including leading brands, innovative services, sports nutrition, and trending beauty.
They will also allow customers to access personalised advice from trained Holland & Barrett colleagues to support them with their wellness goals.
Already operating around 50 concessions, the move complements the retailer's existing retail partnerships, having previously teamed up with WHSmith to offer a curated range of health, beauty and wellness products within its travel stores.
In October, Holland & Barrett also restarted the rollout of its concessions partnership with supermarket chain Tesco.
Nick Gerrard, Property and Format Director at Holland & Barrett said: "Holland & Barrett has an ambitious three-year transformation strategy to become our customer’s first choice for wellness products, advice services and solutions.
"To help achieve this, we’re investing in revitalising our store experience, taking a flexible approach to space planning and piloting new locations and store footprints.
"We’re very excited to partner with NEXT with our brand-new concession formats, which will compliment NEXT’s retail offering, giving its customers easy and convenient access to the latest and trending health and wellness essentials."
The new partnership with NEXT reflects Holland & Barrett's ongoing investment in physical retail, having invested approximately £70 million in the transformation of its stores, technology and new product development, including the opening and renovation of over 200 stores in the UK.
Last month, the retailer opened a new flagship at London's Battersea Power Station, boasting its latest technology and an updated store design to entice customers.
The new 1249 sq ft store features thousands of health, wellness and beauty products, as well as upgraded tablets with new assisted shopping capabilities and digital shelf labels.
It is also fitted using 100% recyclable materials, and the lighting is designed to be more efficient, reduce energy consumption and cut carbon emissions, aligning with Holland & Barrett's climate commitment to roll out LED lighting across its stores, distribution centre and manufacturing site.
