In Pictures: Inside Anya Hindmarch’s nostalgic Boots takeover
Stepping into Anya Hindmarch’s latest collaboration with Boots at The Village feels less like entering a beauty pop-up and more like walking through a time capsule of British high-street history. Following its opening last week, TheIndustry.beauty stepped inside to explore the nostalgic, design-led space.
Taking over The Village Hall on London’s Pont Street, the limited-time concept store reimagines the look and feel of historic Boots pharmacies, drawing directly from the retailer’s archives. White-coated dispensary cues, apothecary-style shelving, retro tiling and vintage artefacts anchor the space in a distinctly 1970s aesthetic, celebrating Boots’ origins as a trusted neighbourhood chemist.
The installation is deliberately playful. Familiar pharmacy codes are softened through Hindmarch’s signature design language, with her instantly recognisable eyes motif appearing throughout the space and across a curated edit of everyday bathroom essentials. Priced accessibly between £5 and £10, the products blur the line between utility and design, turning toothpaste, hand wash and wipes into collectable objects.
Imagery from the store highlights how carefully the collaboration balances humour with heritage. Archive references sit alongside bold graphics, while traditional pharmacy fittings are offset by tongue-in-cheek product naming. It’s the perfect example of bringing new life to nostalgia.
The Village-exclusive edit also includes a limited run of Anya Hindmarch’s Universal Bag, reworked in Boots’ iconic blue and white colour palette, alongside wash bags inspired by antique medical kits. Elsewhere, familiar pharmacy brands are "Anya-ised" through packaging-led design, reinforcing the emotional connection many UK consumers have with Boots as a brand.
More broadly, the activation reflects a growing appetite for immersive retail experiences that prioritise storytelling over scale. Rather than chasing footfall alone, collaborations like this invite customers to engage with the brand.
The Anya Hindmarch x Boots is running until 8 March 2026.
