In Review 2023: This year's big beauty appointments
Throughout the year, the beauty industry has witnessed a number of new senior leadership appointments from a variety of big beauty brands.

Avon appoints new CEO as Angela Cretu steps down
Natura & Co appointed Kristof Neirynck as CEO of Avon, replacing Angela Cretu, who continues to support and contribute as an advisor.
Neirynck served as Global Chief Marketing Officer at Avon for the past two years, helping to drive a "complete brand relaunch". He was also appointed as Managing Director for Avon in Western Europe earlier this year.
LVMH-owned Fresh appoints new CEO
LVMH-owned Fresh strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Ada Lien as CEO. The move marked a promotion for Lien, who first joined the company as Chief Brand & Marketing Officer in July 2023.
Prior to this, she held various senior leadership roles at Estée Lauder Companies. This most recently includes General Manager of Origins, as well as other marketing positions at La Mer and Clinique.
Rituals confirms new UK MD as Penny Grivea steps down
Beauty and wellbeing brand Rituals confirmed the departure of Penny Grivea as its Managing Director for the UK and Ireland after almost nine years in the role.
Grivea was replaced by Annemarie Forsyth, who previously served as Managing Director for Victoria's Secret in the UK and Ireland from July 2018.

Sephora names new Global CMO to "reinforce brand desirability"
Sephora appointed Deborah Yeh as Global CMO to "reinforce its brand desirability and continue to increase its global community of loyal members".
Yeh also set out to foster collaboration across regions and encourage best practice sharing, while leading the beauty retailer's purpose and sustainability strategy.
Omorovicza hires Grown Alchemist manager as new GM
Luxury skincare brand Omorovicza appointed Harrison Gregory as General Manager for the UK, EMEA and APAC regions.
Gregory joined Omorovicza from Grow Alchemist, where he had served as General Manager UK & EMEA since May 2022. In this new role at Omorovicza, he oversees sales, education, marketing and the brand's institutes.
British Beauty Council names Kate Moss as Global Ambassador
The British Beauty Council named British model Kate Moss as its new Global Ambassador as it looks to strengthen its global presence.
The appointment aims to increase engagement with the British Beauty Council's work on a global scale, following the appointment of renowned makeup artist Bobbi Brown as its first-ever US Ambassador earlier this year.
Neom Organics names new CEO as co-founder steps down
Neom Organics appointed Isabel Malbois as CEO, replacing co-founder Oliver Mennell, who stepped down after more than 18 years.
The move marked a step up for Malbois, who served as Managing Director at Neom Organics since July 2022. Before joining the business, she held various managerial positions at L'Oréal for its Giorgio Armani and Urban Decay brands.

Olaplex names new CEO as JuE Wong exits
Olaplex named Amanda Baldwin as its new CEO, replacing JuE Wong, who stepped down after more than three years in the role.
Baldwin joins Olaplex from Supergoop, where she worked as CEO since July 2016. John Bilbrey, Executive Chair at Olaplex, has been serving as interim CEO until Baldwin takes on the role in early 2024.
Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross appoints new co-CEO
Pattern Beauty named Christiane Pendarvis as co-CEO, sharing the title with brand founder Tracee Ellis Ross.
Pendarvis joined Pattern Beauty from Savage X Fenty by Rihanna. The appointment of Pendarvis signalled a new era of growth for the business, which is dedicated to innovating the natural hair category.
Walgreens Boots Alliance names new CEO
Walgreens Boots Alliance appointed Tim Wentworth as its new CEO, replacing Rosalind Brewer, who stepped down after over two years in the role.
It came as WBA looked at "right-sizing" the business, while driving execution and creating greater value for employees, patients, customers and shareholders. Wentworth also joined the WBA Board of Directors upon assuming the role.
L’Oréal appoints Chief Global Growth Officer
L’Oréal promoted Fabrice Megarbane to Chief Global Growth Officer. Megarbane succeeded Frédéric Rozé, who will retire at the beginning of next year, after 38 years at the company.
As Chief Global Growth Officer, Megarbane is in charge of accelerating growth, leading transformation projects and animating the group’s zones.

Revolution Beauty appoints new CEO as it attempts to rebuild
Revolution Beauty appointed Lauren Brindley as its new Chief Executive Officer. She replaced Bob Holt, who announced his departure from the business as part of a settlement agreement with Boohoo.
Brindley joined Revolution Beauty from Walgreens, where she served as Vice President for Beauty & Personal Care. Prior to this, she worked for Boots UK and Boots Retail International as Head of Prestige Beauty & Fragrance.
Harry Styles' Pleasing appoints first-ever CEO
Harry Styles' beauty brand Pleasing appointed Shaun Kearney as its first-ever Chief Executive Officer. Kearney joined Pleasing from Goop, where he most recently served as Chief Design & Merchandising Officer.
As CEO of Pleasing, Kearney focuses on the brand's growth, diversifying its product offering, introducing new categories, and growing its community of collaborators and consumers.
Beauty Pie appoints former Peloton CCO as new CEO
Cornils joined the beauty membership club as it enters the next stage of growth, expanding into the US and other international markets.

Estée lauder appoints first-ever Chief Sustainability Officer
The Estée Lauder Companies appointed Nancy Mahon as its first-ever Chief Sustainability Officer, reflecting the "ongoing evolution of the group's ambitions and capabilities".
In this role, Mahon focuses on the strategic integration and implementation of the group's sustainability initiatives, as well as ESG reporting across the organisation.
The Inkey List appoints former Benefit Cosmetics CMO as new CEO
The Inkey List appointed Stephanie Davis Michelman as its new CEO, replacing co-founders Colette Laxton and Mark Curry as they focus on "driving global growth and expanding the brand mission".
Michelman joined The Inkey List from Benefit Cosmetics, where she served as Global Chief Marketing Officer. As CEO, Michelman is helping to lead the skincare business into its next chapter of global growth.
Elemis names ex-Charlotte Tilbury head as Chief Brand Officer
British skincare brand Elemis appointed Jennifer Baldwin as its new Chief Brand Officer, reporting from its London HQ.
Baldwin is responsible for bringing core values to life and building brand equity, with a key focus on elevating the brand's three sustainability pillars of Biodiversity, Climate and People.
Kering names CEO of Kering Beauté
French luxury group Kering appointed Raffaella Cornaggia as CEO of Kering Beauté as it prepares to push into the beauty segment.
In this role, Cornaggia is helping to "develop an expertise in the beauty category" for Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Pomellato and Qeelin.

Unilever appoints former Heinz President as new CEO
Unilever appointed Hein Schumacher as its new Chief Executive Officer, following an "extensive, global search process".
Schumacher replaced Alan Jope, who announced his intention to retire from Unilever in September 2022. He previously became a Non-Executive Director at Unilever in October last year.
THG shuffles board and appoints new CFO
THG shuffled its senior leadership team and appointed ex-Deloitte executive Damian Sanders as Chief Financial Officer.
Sanders took over as CFO from John Gallemore, who was appointed as Chief Operating Officer. His appointment followed an extensive search both internationally and domestically, according to the business.
