Israeli model May Tager has taken the helm of Dior’s highly-anticipated Holiday campaign, prompting speculation that the luxury French house has dropped Palestinian model Bella Hadid.

This move comes as Palestinian Bella Hadid has faced a multitude of backlash for her socio-political outpourings on social media. It is not yet clear if Hadid has been replaced by Tager as no official announcement has been made by Dior.

Hadid, who was first appointed as its ambassador in May 2016, is not present in the new ad for the brand's new perfume La Collection Privee from its holiday season collection.

Tager is a 24-year-old IMG model who has worked with world-renowned international brands including Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton and Victoria's Secret, to name a few.

In the clip posted to Instagram, Tager is seen opening up the iconic advent calendar, which takes the form of a crisp white and gold-embellished Parisian townhouse. Each drawer opens to reveal best-selling beauty must-haves from Dior Beauty, such as the famous J'adore perfume.

In another clip, the model is seen set amongst an abundance of expertly-wrapped presence, exchanging Dior's perfumes.

This isn't the first time Dior has been embroiled in controversy. In April, Dior reportedly offered Johnny Depp "upwards of $20 million" to renew his contract for its best-selling fragrance, Dior Sauvage, for the following three years. The company faced pressure to drop Depp after his ex-wife accused him of sexual and physical abuse, despite his name being cleared in June 2022. Dior continued working with him despite his Hollywood blacklisting.
