The John Lewis Partnership has confirmed the permanent appointment of Andy Mounsey as Chief Financial Officer, following a interim period in the role since autumn 2024.

Mounsey has served in various senior finance roles at the business for 13 years, including Group Finance & Strategy Director.

He also previously worked at EY for 12 years, where he advised large listed clients globally across the consumer sector.

"I'm honoured and excited to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer at such a transformative time for the partnership. We’re seeing solid progress in our key financial metrics and continued improvements in customer sentiment," said Mounsey.

"The partnership is in strong financial health and stepping up investment this year for customers and partners. I look forward to working with the entire team to build on this progress and ensure the long-term financial strength of our unique business."

Chairman Jason Tarry added that Mounsey's contribution as interim CFO since taking on the role last year "has been invaluable", and "it’s great to have him as part of the team".

"His deep understanding of the partnership and the retail sector, combined with his extensive experience in various senior finance roles, makes him ideal for this position," said Tarry.

"He will be instrumental in driving our financial strategy and ensuring the long-term success of the partnership."

The news comes after John Lewis last month reported that underlying profits rebounded higher to £126 million in 52 weeks to 25 January, compared to £42 million the previous year.
