Biotech haircare brand K18 has introduced a global initiative aimed at supporting educators and stylists who are influencing the future of the professional hair industry.

The K18 Pro Artist Programme expands the brand’s focus on supporting working stylists and developing professional products that enable creative expression while maintaining long-term hair health.

The initiative is designed to elevate educators within the K18 Pro Artist network by providing opportunities to grow their audience, enhance their educational offerings and connect with a global community through the K18 platform.

The programme highlights educators who are already leading training sessions and building engaged professional communities. Participants receive access to both technical and advanced hair science courses delivered by international industry educators, along with support from K18. This includes product resources, promotional opportunities and involvement in brand-led classes, events and campaigns.

Kathy Lewis, SVP of Global Education at K18 Biomimetic Hairscience, said: "The future of hair artistry is being shaped behind the chair every day, and by talented educators sharing their expertise within the pro community.

"The K18 Pro Artist Program is our commitment to investing in those artists - amplifying their teachings, expanding their reach, and supporting the communities they’re building. This is about elevating the voices already moving the industry forward and redefining what modern hair education looks like as hair longevity becomes a new priority in the professional channel."

Aligned with K18’s biology-first approach, the programme supports stylists experimenting with new techniques in colouring, cutting and styling, while prioritising the long-term condition of different hair types and textures.

Through its global network, the programme will also demonstrate how K18’s peptide-based technology can be incorporated into professional services and current haircare trends focused on longevity.

The initiative is being rolled out internationally, including in the UK, the US, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Ireland, the UAE, France, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Costa Rica.

Participants are selected through applications, recruitment of established educators and identification within K18’s existing stylist community. Selection is ongoing and focuses on educators who teach independently, build engaged audiences and show leadership within the professional sector.

K18, which operates in the field of synthetic biology for beauty, focuses on improving hair health at a structural level rather than relying solely on surface treatments. The brand reports significant global reach, including widespread social media visibility, industry awards and distribution in more than 100 countries. It was acquired by Unilever in 2024.

Earlier this year, K18 named hair expert and trend forecaster Tom Smith as its new global ambassador. The collaboration brings together Smith’s influence across artistry, science and cultural trend forecasting with K18’s biology-first approach to hair repair.
