Biotech haircare brand K18 has appointed Kleo Mack as its Chief Marketing Officer, succeeding Audrey Dorfman, who held the role between May and September 2025.

Mack joins from Shark Beauty, where she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer since May 2025. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership positions at L’Oréal and Glossier.

"K18 is a very community-driven brand. I wanted to find someone who was consumer obsessed, and had experience in culture-shaping marketing. Kleo was the obvious choice," co-founder Suveen Sahib told The Business of Beauty.

In her new role, Mack will work with Sahib to refine K18’s brand storytelling, with a focus on its science-led positioning and a strategy centred on fewer, more targeted marketing activations.

According to Sahib, building cultural relevance in specific cities and strengthening relationships with professional stylists will be central to the brand’s growth.

As part of this effort, K18 has introduced a new initiative aimed at supporting educators and stylists who are influencing the future of the professional hair industry.

The programme is designed to elevate educators within the K18 Pro Artist network by providing opportunities to grow their audience, enhance their educational offerings and connect with a global community through the K18 platform.

K18, which operates in the field of synthetic biology for beauty, focuses on improving hair health at a structural level rather than relying solely on surface treatments. The brand reports significant global reach, including widespread social media visibility, industry awards and distribution in more than 100 countries. It was acquired by Unilever in 2024.
