Kate Somerville has announced a long-term partnership with national charity Become to support children in care and care leavers.

The skincare brand has committed to supporting 130 young people and will provide funding to support them with advice and coaching.

Speaking about the partnership, Kate Somerville said: "Having grown up in a chaotic environment as a kid, I didn’t know what choices were available to me. I feel so passionate about helping other young people who’ve come from turbulent backgrounds defy the impossible and pursue their dreams. I am so proud that we are beginning this long-term partnership with Become to support the life-changing work the charity does in the UK for young care leavers."

There are approximately 80,080 children in care in England, with 1 in 10 children experiencing three or more placements within a year.

Become supports children in care, as they adjust to leaving the system and begin their journey as independent adults. The charity emphasises the detrimental impact a lack of stability can have on young lives and seeks to empower young people in care with advice and encouragement.
