La Roche-Posay, renowned for crafting dermatological skincare solutions such as its best-selling Effaclar Duo, has launched an AI-powered skincare coach, promising users "clearer skin and a clearer mind" in just 21 days.

Skin pathologies and poor skin health concerns are on the rise in the UK, putting Public Health Dermatology Services under strain. With acne affecting around 80% of teenagers and 40% of adults, La Roche-Posay has created SpotScan+ Coach to take on some of the burden and boost skin confidence.

According to a recent study, 71%1 of people with acne expressed lower self-confidence, leading to 350,000 working days a year lost, whilst 35% shared feeling hopeless.

Offering dermatologist-grade support, SpotScan+ Coach is a three-month personalised game plan powered by cutting-edge AI to conquer acne and a range of skincare concerns. It provides users with a comprehensive skin analysis and skincare routine recommendation.

The skincare brand recognises that acne can have a serious impact on quality of life, affecting both the body and mind. So, with its new app (available on IOS now), it aims to “empower, educate and build holistic positive habits for clearer skin and a clearer mind”. La Roche-Posay tackles skincare meanwhile mental health app Calm provides its expertise in terms of support, backed by clinical studies, through guided meditations, breathing exercises, sleep stories, music and insightful articles.

So, how does it work?

  • Download the SpotScan+ Coach app to start your 21-day challenge
  • Decode your skin with SpotScan
  • Discover your personal La Roche-Posay product recommendations
  • Discover the library of 500+ dermatologist-created articles, videos and podcasts to help you decipher blemish causes, contributing lifestyle factors and the mind-skin connection
  • Enjoy soothing soundscapes, guided meditations and breathing exercises from Calm - a calm mind equals happy skin

This is just the latest beauty-related advances in AI technology this year. Earlier this month, Beauty tech platform Revieve launched a new virtual try-on as it attempts to revolutionise how consumers explore and experience hair colour transformations.

The innovation allows consumers to explore a wide array of hair colour options - from vibrant bolds to subtle highlights and custom blends - all through seamless real-time visualisation.
