Liberty launches nationwide open call for 2027 Beauty Advent Calendar design
Liberty has launched a nationwide open call inviting UK-based artists to design its 2027 Beauty Advent Calendar, marking the first time the retailer has opened the creative process behind its iconic festive calendar.
The Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar has become a key fixture in the seasonal beauty schedule over the past decade, known as much for its illustrated exterior as for its curated edit of products inside.
Each year’s design has traditionally been created in-house, with the new initiative opening up the process to a broader pool of creative talent. British artist and designer Clym Evernden’s signature ink-based illustrations featured in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions.

Launched on 3 July 2026, the open call asks artists to submit original interpretations of Liberty’s historic Tudor flagship store, reimagined through a festive lens. Entrants are encouraged to draw on London’s cultural landscape while reflecting Liberty’s heritage and Christmas storytelling.
One winning artist will be selected to develop their design in collaboration with Liberty’s in-house creative team, with the final artwork set to feature on the 2027 edition of the calendar. The commission includes a £15,000 prize and will be documented across Liberty’s digital and social channels.
Natalie Guselli, Head of Beauty at Liberty, said: “The Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar has become one of our most iconic annual moments.”
“Every year it tells a new story, and we’re incredibly excited to open that creative process to the wider artistic community. This is an opportunity to discover new talent while continuing Liberty’s long-standing commitment to supporting creativity, craftsmanship and original artistic voices.”
Submissions must include an artist biography, a creative narrative and the final artwork in PDF format. The deadline for entries is 29 July 2026, with 12 artists to be shortlisted before a final judging stage selects three finalists. The winner will then work closely with Liberty’s creative team on production.
