Liz Earle partners with WWF to help restore UK biodiversity
Liz Earle has announced a new partnership with WWF, joining forces to protect the UK’s natural habitats and help restore biodiversity.
The three-year partnership will see the organisations working together to restore a seagrass meadow off the shores of Liz Earle's home, the Isle of Wight. Tapping into the micro-climate of the island, the seagrass restoration will take place in the Solent and across the UK coastline.
Since its launch in 1995, the British beauty brand says it has been committed to pioneering natural and ethically sourced skincare and has worked to activate green initiatives that align with its commitments to sustainability. The partnership is the next step for Liz Earle to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and stop the loss of nature.
The partnership will also focus on informing Liz Earle customers about the importance of protecting the UK’s biodiversity and will be raising funds to support the seagrass project over the next three years.
Claire Lee, Liz Earle Beauty Co. Head of Brand Marketing, said: “Sustainability has always been at the heart of our brand and since its inception, the brand has been aware of its environmental impact. Partnering with WWF feels like the natural next step in our commitment to building relationships that help to actively monitor and reduce our impact on the environment, as well as a chance to help our customers learn about the importance of biodiversity.”
Alex Lankester, Director of Partnerships at WWF, added: “We’re delighted to be working with Liz Earle Beauty Co. to inspire their customers to stop the loss of UK’s natural habitats and aid the recovery of biodiversity. The partnership will help us restore valuable seagrass meadows in the Solent and across the country, which provides an important habitat for marine wildlife and absorbs ocean carbon storage.”
