L’Oréal has appointed Stijn Demeersseman as Global Chief Commercial Officer for its Consumer Products division, overseeing brands such as Garnier, Maybelline and Essie.

The appointment marks a return to L’Oréal for Demeersseman, who previously spent more than eight years at the company in various commercial and regional management roles.

He most recently served as Head of UK Retail Media & Advertising Account Management at Amazon and brings nearly 11 years of experience from Procter & Gamble.

In a post on LinkedIn, Demeersseman said: "I’m proud to return to L'Oréal as Global Chief Commercial Officer for the Consumer Products Division. It is a privilege to rejoin a company that continues to set the benchmark for innovation, brand building, and execution at scale.

"I am joining at a time when commercial leadership is becoming more strategic than ever. Retail media, AI, and new commerce models are reshaping how brands connect with consumers and how consumer intent turns into action. That creates a major opportunity to build stronger retailer partnerships and more engaging consumer experiences.

"What excites me most is the opportunity to work across markets, customers, and functions to help accelerate the next phase of growth, strengthen collaboration with retail partners, and continue raising the bar on commercial excellence."

The news comes after L’Oréal reported full-year sales of €44.05 billion (£38.3 billion), supported by growth across all divisions and regions, with momentum accelerating in the second half of the year.

The Consumer Products Division recorded like-for-like growth of 3.5% and reported growth of 0.7%, with performance improving in the latter half of the year, driven by increased innovation in haircare and makeup.

L’Oréal Paris and NYX Professional Makeup delivered strong performances, while haircare achieved double-digit growth. In skincare, innovation included additions to the Revitalift range, such as the Eye Bag Instant Eraser and Garnier Dry Touch Cream.
