L’Oréal is rumoured to have entered exclusive talks to acquire UK-based skincare brand Medik8 from private equity firm Inflexion.

Both L’Oréal and Medik8 have yet to issue official statements regarding the reports, but industry insiders told WWD that the proposed deal is expected to move forward.

It is understood there were other suitors interested in the brand, but that L’Oréal now looks to be the likely buyer.

The acquisition would mark another strategic expansion for L’Oréal across its dermocosmetics category, which already includes SkinCeuticals, CeraVe, and La Roche-Posay.

Founded in 2009, Medik8 attempts to revolutionise skincare with a scientific approach to age-defying solutions.

Driven by a passion for innovation and efficacy, the brand combines "cutting-edge research with high-quality ingredients" to address a wide range of skin concerns.

From potent vitamin C serums to retinol-infused treatments, its products are formulated to deliver visible results while prioritising skin health and sustainability, empowering individuals to achieve their best complexion.
