L'Oreal stops Russian operations while offering support to Ukrainian employees

L'Oreal has released a statement announcing it will temporarily stop in-store and ecommerce trading in Russia.

As Russia continues invading the Ukraine, the beauty brand has closed all of its stores, directly operated counters in department stores and ecommerce site across the country. Along with suspending all industrial and national media investments.

L'Oreal has also announced it is working to support its employees in the Ukraine. The brand's teams in neighbouring countries are welcoming Ukrainian colleagues who cross the border, supporting them with accommodation, psychological, medical, financial and legal support.

Working with local and international NGOs such the Red Cross and United Nations agencies, L'Oreal is making donations of up to €5 million. Additionally, the brand has distributed 250,000 essential care and hygienic products and will continue to provide more in the coming weeks.

In a statement, L'Oreal said: "Our absolute priority is to support our 326 Ukrainian employees and their families whose lives have been changed so dramatically. Although some have managed to cross the border, the majority of them remain in the country under increasingly unbearable conditions. We are concerned for them and for their safety."
