L’Oréal has unveiled a series of new beauty technology innovations to create more "inclusive, personalised, accessible and sustainable experiences and solutions for all."

The innovations are being presented at Viva Technology Paris this week, allowing L’Oréal to showcase its latest tech-enabled offerings and partnerships.

The new solutions  hope to demonstrate  L’Oréal's expertise at "harnessing the power of data, technology and artificial intelligence to help consumers become better-informed and gain access to beauty products and services personalised for their specific needs".

Among the new innovations are:

L’Oréal Kérastase

Kérastase: K-Scan

An AI-powered smart camera to scan, diagnose and track scalp and hair health-related conditions. K-Scan is a handheld device that uses three kinds of light (white, cross-polarised and UV) to analyse all types of hair and scalp.

Maybelline x Microsoft Teams:

Maybelline New York and Microsoft Teams, in collaboration with the Geena Davis Institute, have created the first-ever digital makeup bag for a virtual world.

L'Oreal GA

Giorgio Armani: Meta Profiler

An in-store diagnostic consultation to analyse skin. The Meta Profiler is a "first-of-its-kind" device that provides diagnosis behind skin clinical aging signs including UV damage, redness, enlarged pores, lack of hydration and fine lines.

L’Oréal x Impact+:

L’Oréal has worked with Impact+, a French start-up, to track and measure digital media campaigns to reduce its media carbon footprint.

The group is also promoting its HAPTA and Brow Magic solutions. HAPTA is a handheld, ultra-precise smart makeup applicator for users with limited hand and arm mobility, whilst Brow Magic is an at-home electronic eyebrow makeup applicator that provides users with customised brow looks.

L’Oréal’s beauty technology presence grew to more than 5,900 employees, 800 online services with 40 million service sessions in 2022.

Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal Group, said: “By putting our resources behind emerging technologies that democratise access to smarter and more sustainable beauty, we enable everyone to enjoy beauty more equitably and on their terms.”
