Luxury brand Discothèque targets on-the-go consumers with new 'handbag scents'
Luxury fragrance brand Discothèque is reimagining fragrance for the modern lifestyle with the launch of its new 'handbag scents'.
Co-founders Hanover Booth and Jessie Willner say the new format is a direct response to the energetic, always-on-the-go lifestyles of their customers.
"The handbag scents were born out of the late-night, on-the-move energy of running from work to dinner to a dance floor," Booth told TheIndustry.beauty.
Willner added: "We wanted Discothèque to live with you and go everywhere with you. It felt necessary to create a fragrance format that could move with you and still keep the subversive, tongue-in-cheek packaging we imbue in every product."

Indeed, the brand’s aesthetic remains front and centre. The 2ml vials come individually wrapped in playful packaging - a tongue-in-cheek nod to a certain intimate type of packet - designed for convenience without compromising on quality, performance, or personality.
Despite their small size, the ‘handbag scents’ pack a punch. Formulated as high-concentration EDPs, they are claim to deliver long-lasting performance with just a few spritzes. "Our scents have stamina," Booth explained.
Meanwhile, Willner emphasised: "Because, as we keep telling everyone - it’s not the size that matters, it’s how you use it."
Like the rest of the Discothèque collection, the handbag scents are formulated and handcrafted in the UK using vegan, clean ingredients.
The initial range of mix-and-match samples includes six scents:
- All Night Until First Light
- Sweat, Tears, Paradise
- Baise Moi On The Dancefloor
- Dark Imagination
- Call For A Good Time
- Lola At Coat Check
Each scent is designed to evoke a specific mood or moment, aligning with the brand’s storytelling ethos and nightlife-inspired identity.
With this launch, Discothèque taps into the growing demand for portable luxury - beauty products that integrate seamlessly into fast-paced lifestyles while still offering high-end performance and identity-led design.
Whether tossed into a handbag, pocket, or clutch, these 2ml fragrance samples hope to allow wearers to switch scents on the go, experiment more freely, and make fragrance a part of their daily rhythm.
