Luxury fashion resale platform Hardly Ever Worn It (hewi) has ventured into beauty, offering its B2B partners and individual sellers the opportunity to sell "never used" product that may not otherwise be sold due to small issues, such as marginally damaged packaging.

For the past 12 years, hewi has been at the forefront of changing consumer behaviour in the luxury fashion space providing a platform to sell and buy unworn, or lightly worn, fashion and accessories from major names such as Chanel, Dior and Celine, along with a host of other luxury and premium brands.

It is now turning its attention to beauty enabling unused product to be sold, rather than wastefully discarded. According to the brand, the newly established beauty channel has "gone off like a rocket".

Speaking to TheIndustry.beauty, hewi strategic adviser, Rachel Reavley said: "Fashion and beauty are integral partners so it made perfect sense for hewi to launch a luxury beauty edit.

"Learning that more times than not, when a beauty product's packaging is even marginally damaged, it is unable to be sold, hewi created a slip-stream to resell these 'never used' products, so they no longer have to be wastefully discarded. Solving a very real problem.

"We’re extremely excited to see what a great response our hewi customers have already had to this launch. We are ever evolving to take care of all our hewi buyers and sellers luxury needs."

Products currently available on the beauty channel of hewi include fragrance, skincare, make-up, haircare, bodycare, tools and technology from brands including Augustinus Bader, La Mer, Sensai, Sisley, Oribe, Gisou, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Diptyque and many more.

An unused Augustinus Bader body cream, for instance, that usually sells for £150 is available for £85 while a La Mer Lifting Contour Serum, usually sold for £335, is available for £130.

Founded in 2021 hewi is now one of the most respected platforms in luxury fashion resale, selling designer clothing for men, women and children. It offers two levels of selling for its partners and sellers, one which is managed by the seller themselves and a fully managed service where hewi handles all sales and shipping. All items are pre-screened for quality and authenticity before being listed.
