Philippe Farnier has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH beauty division, effective immediately.

According to the luxury house, Farnier's responsibilities will include supporting the division’s transformation and strengthening collaboration across its brands.

"His mission will be to lead its transformation in collaboration with the maisons to drive greater synergies, convergence and competitiveness in a constantly evolving beauty market," Dior said in a statement.

"His leadership and global industry insights will be crucial in solidifying the division’s market-leading position and guiding its future growth and evolution of our maisons."

The appointment represents a promotion for Farnier, who joined LVMH in 2022 as President and CEO of LVMH Beauty Travel Retail. He most recently served as Executive Vice President at Parfums Christian Dior.

Farnier began his career in 1990 in management roles at Mondelez and Heineken. In 2003, he joined Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, where he later became General Manager for France.

He first joined LVMH in 2008 as General Manager of Parfums Christian Dior France. Five years later, he was promoted to General Manager for Travel Retail EMEA and Global Marketing.

In 2015, Farnier moved to Rémy Cointreau as President and CEO Americas. In 2018, he became CEO of Rémy Martin and Head of CRS.

"Philippe’s exceptional leadership, international strategic acumen and deep industry knowledge make him the perfect partner to take over this strategic role," said Véronique Courtois, Chairman and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and the LVMH beauty division.

"I am confident that together we will further strengthen our organisation and accelerate our sustainable growth strategy, building on incredible talents within our Maisons."

LVMH appointed Courtois as Chairman and CEO of its beauty division last month, placing her in charge of all beauty brands across the group. She also continues in her role as CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, a dual position the company said is designed to maintain strategic and managerial continuity.

Courtois succeeded Stéphane Rinderknech, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Beauty and Hospitality, who left the group to pursue personal projects.
