Metaverse Beauty Week unveils full events programme for upcoming beauty festival
First-of-its-kind beauty festival Metaverse Beauty Week has released its full schedule of events taking place from 12-16 June 2023, allowing brands and consumers to experience beauty through a series of virtual Web3 experiences.
Developed by creative agency CULT, the festival will be held across multiple metaverse platforms including Spatial, Roblox and Decentraland, as well as IRL at Flannels on London's Oxford Street.
Metaverse Beauty Week will allow participating brands to host a suite of immersive experiences that look to "redefine the future of beauty in our virtual lives". As part of this, consumers are invited to explore ‘phygital’ converged experiences, wearables and gamified activations from a variety of brands spanning the beauty and wellness sectors.
Bridey Lipscombe, Co-founder of Metaverse Beauty Week, said: "As a new festival, it’s core to our delivery that we are sharing learnings from the experiences so that we can all refine our approaches to web3.
"We are acutely aware of the mixed responses from brands and press to web3 experiences, which is why we’ve looked to enhance our programme with a rich diversity of talent, accessible experiences and delightful real life experiences so that there are multiple ways for as many people who wish to, to be involved."
Highlights from the programme of events include:
Metaverse Beauty Week 2023 will kick off with tours in each of the virtual spaces with web3 futurist Sasha Wallinger.
Beauty box subscription brand Glossybox will take visitors on a virtual journey to collect "Glossyboxes" scattered across the experience - with opportunities to win IRL boxes of beauty products.
Wellness app Clementine will be hosting a special “meta-tation” with a focus on reducing stress and increasing relaxation for visitors as they pass through the experience.
Across both Decentraland and Spatial, Lush will create multiple live moments housed inside a giant melting bath bomb - ending the week with a "Rave Wrap Party".
Climate-neutral beauty brand Essence will be releasing its first-ever Roblox game, with players winning points that directly translate to charity donations for Pride Month.
Lottie London will take its most popular TikTok bestsellers and transform them into the "Lottie Lotte-rie".
Flannels Beauty will host a number of in-person and virtual events, including recreating this season’s beauty looks as wearables, hosting a meta concierge for beauty advice, and streaming live masterclasses with hairstylist Larry King.
Participating brands will also join a panel discussion led by Metaverse Beauty Week Founders Bridey Lipscombe and Cat Turner to discuss "From Mall to Metaverse - Exploring New Realities".
