M&S Marketing Director Anna Braithwaite exits after four years
Marks & Spencer Marketing Director Anna Braithwaite has confirmed her departure as she prepares to "embark on a new chapter".
Speaking to TheIndustry.beauty, Braithwaite stated that today marks her final day at the company, although she can not yet disclosed details about her next steps.
Braithwaite joined M&S in June 2021 during a transformative period for the British department store.
During her tenure, she played a key role in revitalising the brand and shaping its evolving marketing strategy - most recently contributing to the launch of its new 'Summer Like You Mean It' campaign, which debuted this week.
Before joining M&S, she served as Global Brand Director (Non-Food) at Tesco and previously spent nearly three years as Head of Brand Marketing at F&F Clothing.
Her career also includes senior marketing roles at Hobbs, Jacques Vert Group, and John Lewis & Partners.
"Over the last four years Anna has supported our transformation journey to drive style perceptions and broaden our appeal. We thank her for her contribution," a spokesperson for M&S told TheIndustry.beauty.
The news comes after Marks & Spencer saw revenue increase 6% to £13.8 billion for the year ending 29 March 2025, as fashion, home and beauty sales grew by 3.5%.
The business is currently undergoing a major transformation programme, which is including changes to its shop estate.
It plans to have 600 stores by 2028, comprising 420 bigger food stores and 180 full clothing, home and food stores.
M&S also said it has accelerated plans to invest in improvements to its technology to now take place over the next six months, after previously indicating it would take two years.
Earlier this week, the retail giant appointed Thinus Keeve to the newly created role of Retail Director, effective from 6 June.
Keeve brings experience from Australian supermarket Coles, where he served as Chief Sustainability, Property & Export Officer until July 2022.
