Natura & Co CEO to step down as group begins reorganisation
Natura & Co’s CEO and Executive Chairman, Roberto Marques, has revealed he will be stepping down from both roles to retire. He plans to remain on the Board of Directors to help the transition until the end of the year.
The announcement coincides with Natura & Co’s group reorganisation, which will see roles including Sustainable Growth Officer and Chief Transformation Officer no longer exist or revisited in the new structure.
Fabio Barbosa, who chairs Natura & Co's People Committee, will succeed Marques to lead the Natura &Co group. He will also create a workstream to help define the group's new corporate structure over the upcoming months. Barbosa previously served as CEO of the Abril publishing group and CEO of Santander Brazil.
Commenting on the restructure, Fabio Barbosa said: "Today we are announcing another important milestone by reenergising the capacity of our four business units. They will be supported by a new and leaner corporate structure that will be implemented in the coming months."
Guilherme Leal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Natura & Co, added: "On behalf of Natura's Founders and of the Board of Directors, we are very excited about this new chapter for Natura &Co. Despite the challenging times the world is facing, we trust in the strength of our purpose, and support the restructuring of our group, with more autonomy and accountability for each of our businesses."
Natura & Co, owner of Avon, Aesop and The Body Shop, reported net revenue was down -4.6% in constant currency to £1.3 billion in its Q1 results last month. The group attributed this to rising inflation, cost pressures in the supply chain and effects of the war in Ukraine.
