Natural deodorant brand, AKT receives £1.5M in funding
Award-winning natural deodorant brand AKT have secured £1.5million in funding from Stonebridge, which it will use to increase the retailer's plastic-free footprint across Europe.
The gender inclusive brand also plans to enhance its subscriptions, loyalty programs and e-commerce experiences going forward.
AKT was founded in 2020 by former West End performers, Ed Currie and Andy Coxon, who describe how its inspiration came from performing eight shows a week under searing hot stage lighting, where mainstream deodorants simply weren’t making the cut.
Managing Partner at Stonebridge, James Cox, said: "Natural deodorants have been gaining significant momentum with consumers due to growing awareness of the potential harmful effects of aluminium-salts in deodorant formulas.
"The organic deodorant market is set to be worth $158.5 million by 2025, AKT’s blend of style and substance positions them well as a future winner, with the same attributes giving them license to extend the range at speed.”
AKT also plans to now develop its range of 100% recyclable products beyond their deodorant balms.
