Natural Austrian skincare brand Susanne Kaufmann is showcasing a fresh new retail format that pays homage to its Austrian roots, starting with its first ever retail counter in Berlin.

The move, which is expected to pave the way for similar formats in other stores and countries, represented a “milestone” for the brand, CEO Jessica Clark said.

Located in Berlin's KaDeWe department store, the new-look retail counter's "sophisticated design"  allowed customers to "immerse" themselves in the world of Susanne Kaufmann, the brand said.

Inspired by the brand’s Austrian roots, the 10sqm retail space has been constructed with locally sourced materials including Swiss stone pine, a typical fragrant wood from the region.

“We are delighted to open our first flagship Susanne Kaufmann in-store counter with KaDeWe Berlin,” CEO Jessica Clark said.

“As an iconic retail destination that has been serving international and local customers for over 100 years, it is an honour to partner with KaDeWe to bring our joint vision for the brand to life.

“Our aim is to create a retail experience that invites our KaDeWe customers to be transported to the Austrian Alps, where the brand originates, to experience the beautiful nature, local craftsmanship and generations of botanical ingredient knowledge that go into every bottle in the Susanne Kaufmann range.”
