Nivea Sun has been named the official suncare provider for this year's 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the home of Nivea's parent company Beiersdorf UK.

Running from 28 July to 8 August, Nivea Sun will work with the Commonwealth Games community to offer 17,000 volunteers a free Nivea Sun Protect & Moisture SPF50+.

In addition to its Commonwealth Games partnership, Nivea Sun and Cancer Research UK will be going on tour this summer to share sun safety education, to help spectators enjoy the games while protecting their skin.

The Nivea Sun x CRUK Sun Safety Bus will be onsite for the full duration of the Commonwealth Games to help communicate the importance of effective sunscreen use, shade and clothing for sun protection. All spectators will be able to visit the SunSafety Bus for advice and receive free suncream.

Andrew Rawle, Marketing Director for Northern Europe at Beiersdorf, said: “We are very proud to partner with Birmingham 2022 as the official sun care provider, helping to keep all volunteers, spectators and their families safe in the sun this summer. For the first time in a while, people will be coming together and spending time outdoors, so we look forward to making Birmingham 2022 the most sun safe games yet."
