British beauty brand No7 has unveiled new "world-first" peptide technology to support skin's natural self repair.

The innovation was recently presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, which saw scientists from No7 reveal the new ‘super peptide’ for the first time.

Created with skin scientists at the University of Manchester, the novel matrix derived peptide blend is the result of 15 years of research into skin ageing and repair. According to No7, it is proven to "bio-hack the skin’s natural repair process".

Kelli Hearst, Global Product Director at No7, said: “No7 has always led with scientific innovation, and we continue to prioritise our research through our long-standing partnership with the brilliant scientists at the University of Manchester.

“This is the biggest cosmetic science innovation in No7’s 86-year history and a world-first technology that cannot be found in any other product. The American Academy of Dermatology’s Annual Conference was No7’s first ever presence at an international scientific conference and we want to continue developing relationships with leading dermatologists, demonstrating that our products are backed by breakthrough science and years of academic research.”

The new technology is also due to be presented at the British Society for Investigative Dermatology Annual Meeting in Glasgow and the International Societies for Investigative Dermatology meeting in Tokyo this spring.

The launch marks No7's latest innovation, following the launch of its Pro Derm Scan last year. The hand-held diagnostic device analyses both skin condition and tone, hoping to encourage buying confidence in consumers.

The tool is designed to deliver high-resolution scanning that can detect subtle changes to the skin before they become apparent to the naked eye.
