Noughty supports Cruelty Free International with new donation pledge
Hair and body care brand Noughty will donate £1 for every order placed on its official website from 9 June to 9 July 2023 to support Cruelty Free International's ongoing efforts to end animal testing worldwide.
Co-founded by Rachel Parsonage and Lorna Mitchell of KMI Brands, Noughty is a 97% natural hair and body care brand committed to producing vegan, cruelty-free and natural products that deliver high-performance results.
By pledging to donate £1 for every purchase made on its official website, Noughty is inviting its customers to help make a "significant impact" in the fight against animal cruelty.
Each order will help raise funds for Cruelty Free International's campaigns and initiatives, aimed at raising awareness, lobbying for legislative change and promoting cruelty-free practices within the beauty industry.
Claire Green, Brand Director of Noughty, said: "We firmly believe that beauty should never come at the expense of innocent lives.
"By supporting Cruelty Free International, we are reinforcing our commitment to creating a world where animals are no longer subjected to painful testing for cosmetics.
The move follows revelations that the British Government had “secretly” abandoned the ban on testing cosmetic product ingredients on animals.
Animal testing for makeup or its ingredients had been banned in the UK since 1998. However, in a letter sent to Cruelty Free International in 2021, the Home Office admitted that had allowed animal testing for cosmetics in the UK since 2019.
The documents were disclosed in court proceedings in January, where the Government was criticised for the way it had conducted itself but its actions were not deemed to be unlawful.
Following this, the Home Office outlined it plans to seek alternatives to animal testing in cosmetics and said that no new licences would be granted for animal testing of chemicals that are exclusively intended to be used as ingredients in cosmetics products moving forward.
