Penhaligon’s has reopened its flagship boutique on Regent Street following an extensive refurbishment, marking a new phase in the British fragrance house’s 155-year history.

Designed in collaboration with interior architecture studio Michaelis Boyd, known for projects including Battersea Power Station and Soho Farmhouse, the revamped space is intended to reflect both the brand’s heritage and its contemporary direction.

As part of this, the store showcases Penhaligon’s core themes of fragrance, craftsmanship, and storytelling through a modern lens, while bridging the brand’s heritage with its future direction.

A defining element of the boutique is the use of William’s Green, Penhaligon’s Pantone-registered brand colour. The shade appears across marble, wood, and textile finishes throughout the space.

Sustainable and reclaimed materials have been incorporated, creating a tactile environment that reflects its historical roots. Lighting by Joe Armitage enhances this effect, creating a "warm glow" that showcases the textures and architectural details.

Custom furniture and artworks commissioned for the Regent Street boutique further highlight craft and narrative elements. Notable pieces include a bronze lion-shaped fragrance profiling table by sculptor Hamish Mackie and a hand-painted mural of the English countryside by artist Claire Basler.

The space also features a mosaic entrance by the London School of Mosaic, showcasing a reinterpreted brand insignia, alongside a bespoke chess set by Carl Fox and Sofia Karakatsanis, inspired by Penhaligon’s Portraits collection.

To mark the reopening, Penhaligon’s has also collaborated with artist Maggi Hambling, who has designed 155 bespoke bottles of Endymion Concentré. These limited-edition bottles will be available exclusively at the Regent Street boutique.
