PrettyLittleThing have written to Manchester City Council asking to rename a street after the brand, in order to have a physical and permanent presence in the city.

The online fashion fashion giant started life as a simple market stall in Manchester and is now one of the biggest names in the UK fashion industry. The business was founded by Adam and Umar Kamani in 2012 and was acquired by their father Mahmud Kamani's business, Boohoo Group, in 2017.

In the letter, PrettyLittleThing discuss wanting to honour its birthplace with the symbol of the unicorn, which it sees as an icon of "uniqueness, courage, strength and rarity".

If approved, it would see Manchester's 'Unicorn Street' renamed 'Pretty Little Unicorn Street'.

In August 2021, PrettyLittleThing announced the appointment of Molly-Mae Hague as UK and EU Creative Director. Having previously worked with the brand as their UK Brand Ambassador, the influencer has joined the brand in a yearlong partnership working alongside their in-house Creative and Brand team.
