K-beauty retailer Pureseoul is closing out the year with its boldest move yet: five store openings in five consecutive weeks, landing in Cardiff, Newcastle, London, Manchester and Kingston before Christmas. This will take the Korean beauty specialist to 14 stores nationwide.

The expansion follows three years of rapid growth. Pureseoul has evolved from a digital-first curiosity into a full-scale retail force, driven not by major investors but by community enthusiasm. Queues around the block, overnight campouts and viral store openings have become hallmarks of its expansion.

Founded in 2019 by Leslie Tang, Wing-Sze Tang and Gracie Tullio, Pureseoul has built a reputation for offering authentic K-beauty experiences in the UK, working directly with more than 70 Korean brands, 35 of which are exclusive to Pureseoul. Each store delivers an immersive, Seoul-inspired experience, packed with over 1,000 products.

In an exclusive interview with TheIndustry.beauty earlier this year, the founders reflected on the importance of hands-on, physical retail in building trust and community. Leslie Tang explained, "Even though our e-commerce grew quickly, offline retail was crucial. Customers wanted to touch, try, and experience products - especially with skincare, where texture, scent, and performance matter."

The latest push follows the launch of Pureseoul’s Carnaby Street flagship and a landmark partnership with Superdrug, which introduced dedicated K-beauty zones to 30 high street stores. These moves signal that Korean beauty has matured from a niche internet phenomenon into a mainstream retail category.

"In 2026 we’re doubling our footprint, strengthening our roots across the UK, and leading a cultural shift in how beauty is discovered," Tang said.

Each store opening is supported by high-profile launch events, including exclusive goodie bags worth over £300, aimed to fuel consumer excitement and community engagement.
