Selena Gomez’s cosmetics brand Rare Beauty has appointed breakout star Ella Bright as its first brand ambassador, six years after launching without a celebrity representative.

Bright, a 19-year-old actress, shot to fame as Hannah Wells in the TV series 'Off Campus', which made its debut two months ago.

She now leads the “Made You Blush” campaign for Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, making her Rare Beauty's first brand ambassador.

Rare Beauty was launched in 2020 by actress and singer Selena Gomez, with a strong mental health mission at its core. She has since used her star power to propel the company to its billion-dollar beauty brand status.

In August last year Gomez and Rare Beauty CEO Scott Friedman denied rumours that Rare Beauty was up for sale, following multiple reports in 2024 suggested Rare Beauty had hired advisers to explore a potential sale, with the company reportedly valued at around £1.58 billion ($2 billion).

Bright commented on the campaign in a statement: “I’m so excited to announce my partnership with Rare Beauty as the new face of the ‘Made You Blush’ campaign.”

"I have been a massive fan of the brand for years, and their Soft Pinch Liquid Blush has always been a favourite in my make-up routine.

“I really admire Rare Beauty’s dedication to mental health initiatives, which is why this project means so much to me,” she added.

Campaign centres on Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

The campaign focuses on Rare Beauty’s existing Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, which Rare Beauty described as one of its bestsellers, citing its concentrated pigment and buildable formula.

In the campaign video, several men attempt to impress Bright, including a musician and a handyman. None succeeds in making her blush.

“Turns out, there’s only one thing that makes me blush: Soft Pinch Liquid Blush by Rare Beauty,” Bright says at the end of the video.

Rare Beauty has linked the product’s established popularity with Bright’s growing audience and her existing use of the blush. The company said the combination gave the campaign “a sense of real cultural momentum, not just a product push”.

The videos starring Bright has already attracted more than 1.6 million likes on Instagram.
