REN Clean Skincare has appointed Michelle Brett as its new CEO to drive its next phase of growth and the brand's "Clean to the Planet" positioning.

Brett was formerly with fellow Unilever Prestige brand Living Proof, where she held senior positions and was latterly senior vice president of sales.

She joins the skincare business just as it announces it has reached its pledge to be Zero Waste by the end of 2021 with 100% of its packaging now being recycled, recyclable or reusable. The brand has also stopped single-use sachets, utilised Infinity Recycling and pioneered a world first aluminum sample tube.

“Taking on such bold initiatives when it comes to sustainability requires bravery and tenacity, and I know first-hand that Michelle Brett is a passionate, focused and dedicated leader who will take on the challenge with open arms and an eagerness to succeed. I’m excited for the next stage of REN’s ambitious zero waste journey and know it is in incredibly safe hands under Michelle’s guidance,” said Vasiliki Petrou, Executive Vice President at Unilever Prestige.

Brett said of her appointment: "I am overly excited to be joining REN Clean Skincare. I am looking forward to working with the team to help grow the business globally, and continue the next phase of Clean to Planet, Clean to Skin. The highly efficacious formulas combined with the zero-waste commitment, now more than ever, are relevant and important to consumers and the planet.”

Brett replaces Arnaud Meysselle who has left the business to join soft toy brand Jellycat as CEO.
