As skincare continues to move into the realm of material science, Reome's latest launch feels less like a product drop and more like a statement of intent. With Hydra-Plasma Veil, the brand is putting biotechnology, biocompatible materials and sustainable manufacturing firmly at the centre of modern skincare innovation.

Hydra-Plasma Veil is a next-generation bio-cellulose infusion mask engineered to deliver immediate hydration, calming repair and long-term skin resilience. But what truly sets it apart is the way it has been conceived, not simply as a vehicle for actives, but as an active biomaterial in its own right.

The mask’s bio-cellulose structure is crafted from 100% fermented coconut, grown over a meticulous 10-15 day bio-fermentation process. The result? An ultra-fine nano-fibre lattice that mirrors the skin’s own extracellular matrix, allowing it to adhere like a second skin. Unlike traditional sheet masks, which often rely on synthetic fibres and single-use plastics, this veil is biodegradable.

Joanna Ellner, founder and CEO of Reome, said: "Bio-cellulose is unmatched in its ability to flood skin with hydration. I’ve long wanted to create a mask that delivers Reome's restorative nourishment without the single-use plastic of existing materials. With Hydra-Plasma Veil, this bio-based material - derived from fermented coconut yeast - fits like a second skin, biodegrades naturally, and elevates our restorative actives to leave skin refined, replenished, and quietly luminous."

Encased within the veil is a densely layered serum. Hydrolysed collagen forms a breathable, moisture-retaining film to support elasticity and structure, while ferment-derived sodium hyaluronate (capable of holding up to 200 times its weight in water) delivers an immediate surge of hydration with proven reductions in water loss.

The formulation also leans heavily into inflammation management and barrier repair, combining adenosine N7 to stimulate fibroblast activity with mineral-rich Salicornia herbacea. Plus, a regenerative botanical network (including centella, chamomile, cica, olive bud and longleaf pine) works across multiple pathways to calm reactivity, defend against oxidative stress and support long-term collagen integrity.

Hydra-Plasma Veil is a reminder that the next frontier in skincare isn’t just in formulas, it’s in the fusion of biotechnology, performance, and sustainability.
