Retail Recap: The big beauty launches in August 2022
This month saw a variety of new beauty launches across the UK, from new brands and retail expansions to tech and product innovation.

Launches at UK retailers
Prai Beauty expands partnership with Boots
Prai Beauty developed its reach on the UK high street, expanding its offering to 700 Boots stores. Customers can now purchase Prai Beauty's range of skincare including its Ageless Throat & Decolletage range, new Ageless Superboost Capsules with Hyaluronic Acid and midlife facial skincare offering at Boots.
Urban Decay launches at Superdrug
Cosmetics brand Urban Decay announced its launch at Superdrug, as the health and beauty retailer looks to strengthen its premium beauty portfolio. The expansion saw Urban Decay launch online and in-selected Superdrug stores, with products including its bestselling All Nighter Setting Spray, Eyeshadow Primer Potion and selection of Naked Eyeshadow Palettes.
Luxury British skincare brand Elemis is expanding its UK presence with a launch in health and beauty retailer Boots. The brand will launch online at Boots on 31 August, followed by its launch in 10 Boots stores across the UK and Ireland from October.
New brands
Wellness brand Herbar announces launch
New beauty and wellness brand Herbar announced its launch, introducing a range of adaptogenic-powered beauty products to consumers. The brand launched with two products including a Face Oil and Gua-Shroom tool.
Luxury fragrance brand D'ORSAY launches in UK
French fragrance brand D'ORSAY launched in the UK market for the first time, with an exclusive shop-in-shop experience at Harrods and Selfridges. UK consumers can now explore the brand's portfolio of 16 prestige, gender-neutral fragrances. Along with its collection of home fragrance and candles.
Imaraïs Beauty launches in the UK
Wellness influencer Sommer Ray launched her ingestible beauty brand Imaraïs Beauty in the UK at online beauty retailer Lookfantastic. The vegan brand offers a range of plant-based, gluten-free and sugar-free skincare and haircare ingestibles to promote health, sustainability and self-love.

Sam McKnight debuts first series of NFTs to celebrate book re-print
Celebrated hair stylist Sam McKnight released his first series of NFTs – depicting supermodels Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid – to mark the re-print of his book 'Hair by Sam McKnight'. Three seminal moments were captured in NFT form via hand-drawn digital artworks created by Helsinki-based artist Laura Laine.

Weleda unveils first Skin Food TV campaign
Skincare brand Weleda announced its first-ever UK television campaign to promote the brand's hero Skin Food collection. Shot using CGI to communicate the efficacy of Weleda’s organic ingredients, the campaign will air across the ITV Central, Meridian and Granada regions from 5 September to 16 October 2022, reaching an estimated audience of nearly eight million people.
Fekkai partners with Honeywell to power new products
Fekkai has partnered with technology company Honeywell to utilise its Solstice Propellant in three of its newest products. Honeywell's Solstice Propellant is a ready-now hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) solution that has an ultra-low global warming potential and helps reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 99% compared with traditional propellants commonly used in cosmetics.
Harrods launches new ‘Men’s Grooming, Fragrance and Sunglasses’ destination
Harrods launched a new dedicated ‘Men’s Grooming, Fragrance and Sunglasses’ space on the second floor, “in celebration of the next phase of its ultimate men’s universe”. New brand arrivals include Escentric Molecules, Humanity Cosmetics and Murdock, and there’s also dedicated Tom Ford and Creed fragrance corners.
