This month saw a variety of new beauty launches across the UK, from new brand launches and retail expansions, to tech and product innovation.

Launches at UK retailers

Elemis lands at Selfridges as part of new product and treatment partnership

British skincare brand Elemis landed in-store at Selfridges in Birmingham and Manchester, further expanding its presence across the UK. As part of this, Elemis has created a "unique and engaging" space for shoppers at the Bullring in Birmingham and Trafford Centre in Manchester, supported by an expert team.

ILIA Beauty continues UK expansion with new Space NK partnership

California-based cosmetics brand ILIA Beauty launched at Space NK. The partnership signifies the brand's continued commitment to "redefining the beauty landscape with products that seamlessly blend efficacy, ethics, and innovation".

New microbiome skincare brand Opalore debuts

Opalore, a new microbiome skincare brand designed to counter the causes and effects of biological ageing, launched for the first time. Recognising that the biological process of skin ageing is different for everyone, the brand introduced five proprietary Brilliance Creams suitable for men and women of all ages, skin types and skin tones.

Dr Alexis Granite 'reimagines wellness' for first-ever brand launch

Consultant dermatologist Dr Alexis Granite confirmed the launch of her first-ever wellness brand, called Joonbyrd. Whilst specific product details have not yet been revealed, the brand will launch with a collection of hand and body care products, as well as various lifestyle accessories in April 2024.

And Begin targets midlife skin with new personalised service

And Begin, a new personalised skincare brand founded by the dermatological team behind Skin + Me, launched with a new service for midlife skin. The brand aims to "champion midlife women whilst perfectly meeting their skincare needs" with on demand dermatology advice.

Chanel, Dior and more form ‘Traceability Alliance for Sustainable Cosmetics’

Chanel, Dior and Estée Lauder are among 15 companies to have formed ‘The Traceability Alliance for Sustainable Cosmetics’ to enhance the beauty industry's traceability. TRASCE has taken on the task of addressing traceability at scale, including ingredients or components used, their origins, supplier activities, places of transformation and names of suppliers.

Skin + Me spotlights real skin stories for first-ever TV campaign

Personalised skincare brand Skin + Me launched its first-ever TV advertising campaign, spotlighting real subscribers who use its products and services. The trio of adverts document the real skin stories of three Skin + Me subscribers, each on a unique journey to self acceptance.

The Body Shop named as first global beauty brand to receive 100% vegan certification

The Body Shop became the first global beauty brand to achieve 100% vegan product formulations across all ranges. The achievement, which has been certified by The Vegan Society, covers the British brand's entire skincare, bodycare, haircare, makeup and fragrance lines.

L'Oréal

L'Oréal unveils "next-generation" hair drying tool and acquires Gjosa in latest beauty tech moves

L’Oréal Group unveiled a "next-generation" hair drying tool, designed with professional stylists for both beauty professionals and consumers at home. Unlike traditional hair dryers, the new innovation is equipped with a 17-blade, high-speed motor and patented infrared-light technology designed for fast hair drying without excessive heat.

The Inkey List tackles skin aging with new bio-active moisturiser

The Inkey List launched its latest innovation, a new moisturiser introducing a "new age in skincare technology" to defend skin against visible signs of aging. The new Bio-Active Ceramide Repairing and Plumping Moisturiser is powered by "next-generation" Bio-Active Ceramides for visible fine line and wrinkle reduction.
