Revolution Beauty’s online sales rose 22% in the first half of FY27, while gross margin improved by more than 10 percentage points as the mass beauty group continued to improve profitability.

The group said revenue for the six months to 31 August was broadly in line with the previous year, although the first half of FY26 had been boosted by discount sales and sales of discontinued brands and SKUs.

Revolution Beauty expects to report adjusted EBITDA of at least £2 million for the period, compared with a £12.5m loss in the first half of the previous financial year.

The latest update follows Revolution Beauty’s return to adjusted EBITDA profitability in the second half of FY26, when it reported adjusted EBITDA of £4.3 million despite a 28.4% decline in full-year revenue.

The group said it had maintained its cost discipline, with the business delivering positive EBITDA at a monthly level for each of the past 12 months.

Online sales increased 22% year-on-year during the first half. Revolution Beauty said online performance was a “good forward indicator” of trading, while its order books suggested changes to its products and ranges were beginning to have a positive impact with retail customers.

The second half of the financial year typically contributes more revenue than the first half. Based on current trading, the board said the group was “comfortably ahead of market expectations”.

The update comes as Revolution Beauty continues to implement changes to its product ranges and cost base following the return of co-founders Tom Allsworth and Adam Minto to the business in 2025.

In June, Revolution Beauty also agreed a licensing partnership with Debenhams Group to develop, manufacture and distribute fragrance and gifting products across brands including PrettyLittleThing, Karen Millen and BoohooMan. The first collections are expected to launch ahead of Christmas.

The company will publish its interim results for the six months to 31 August on 27 October, when it will provide further detail on its financial performance.

Revolution Beauty operates a multi-brand, multi-category beauty business, selling through its own ecommerce platforms and wholesale relationships with physical and digital retailers.

The group has around 17,500 retail doors across the UK, US and other international markets. It also operates its own manufacturing facility in the UK and employs 231 people.
