Landsec, owners of St David’s in Cardiff, has announced the signing of the wellness and lifestyle brand, Rituals Cosmetics, marking the brand’s debut flagship store in Wales.

The 1,875 sq ft space, located on the Lower Grand Arcade adjacent to Pandora, will feature Rituals’ full range of "luxurious yet affordable" home, bath, and body products, as well as its signature fragrances from some of the world’s finest perfumers. Products range from scented candles and aromatherapy diffusers, to perfumes and massage oils.

Rituals was founded in 2000 by Raymond Cloosterman, a former Unilever employee. The first Rituals store opened in Amsterdam and the brand has since expanded worldwide to 27 countries with approximately 800 stores. Having opened the first store in the UK in Covent Garden in 2016, Rituals now boasts almost 40 stores across the country.

Commenting on behalf of the St David’s partnership, Russell Loveland, Senior Portfolio Director for Landsec, said: “Brands looking to establish a presence in Wales turn to St David’s as their first port of call; this year alone we’ve had national debuts for several global names including Breitling, Morphe, and Sky. We are delighted to now be welcoming Rituals too, an esteemed brand operating within the ever-growing wellness industry. This is a space that is seeing continued interest from our guests at St David’s, so we are excited to be delivering this for Wales for the first time.”

Penny Grivea, Managing Director for UK & Ireland at Rituals Cosmetics, commented: “Rituals has been expanding rapidly around the UK over the past five years, and we are thrilled to be opening our Cardiff store. We are always on the lookout for opportunities to grow and extend our reach, and St David’s presents the perfect destination for our Welsh debut. We are really looking forward to translating our philosophy – the art of soulful living – to the St David’s customer base and ensuring that they experience a unique shopping journey.”

This news follows the recent investment by health and beauty brands at St David’s, including the launch of a revitalised store for L’Occitane and a new premium concept for The Body Shop, joining the standalone ‘The Beauty Society’ department within John Lewis.
