Sam McKnight launches first haircare line at Space NK

Celebrated hair stylist Sam McKnight has launched his first haircare line, which is now available at Space NK.

Inspired by skincare and tested backstage at fashion shows and shoots, the range comprises two shampoos, three conditioners and a mask, which complement the stylist's existing dry styling products (Cool Girl, Lazy Girl Dry Shampoo, Easy Up Do and Modern Hairspray).

The new range fuses botanical ingredients with scientific innovation wrapped in a scent created by luxury perfumer Lyn Harris. Prices range from £28 for a shampoo to £48 for a mask.

"I want to change the way women think and feel about their hair," said Sam McKnight of the launch. "This is why I've created products that are easy to use with fool proof, lightweight and buildable formulations that make an immediate impact. I want to give them the right products and tools to get the most out of their hair. So, they can play, experiment and enjoy their hair because good hair is the ultimate mood booster and your greatest accessory."

The line-up

Light Cleanse Gentle Shampoo (£28). For those who like wash their hair every day, people with sensitive scalps, fine hair types and those with natural, untreated hair. A lightweight formula containing mild surfactants, Aquaxyl – a sugar-derived complex that supports long- term scalp health by preventing water loss. Velvet flower, nettle leaf and honeysuckle extract condition the hair and promise to leaving strands "soft and smooth from root to tip".

Light Nourish Weightless Conditioner (£28) is for all hair types, including frizz-prone, fine and flyaway hair and those who like to wash daily. Lightweight for daily use and nourishing enough to detangle, smooth, and soften hair thanks to active biopolymers derived from hydrolysed corn starch that works to reduce frizz and leave strands smooth and sleek, forming a protective barrier on the surface of the hair to stop moisture intrusion.

Rich Cleanse Nourishing Shampoo (£28) is for dry, damaged and colour treated hair, thirsty hair and scalps. A reparative, fortifying, colour-protecting and gently effective shampoo gives over-worked hair a much-needed dose of nourishment. Sugar beet acts as an anti-hardwater agent pulling the impurities away from the hair and stopping deposits dulling the hair. Quinoa Pro Complex is a rich source of 17 amino acids that can strengthen hair follicles naturally, repair hair by hydrating the scalp leaving hair soft and shiny.

Rich Nourish Replenishing Conditioner (£28) is for dry, damaged and colour treated hair, thirsty hair and scalps. A deeply nourishing regular use conditioner that is designed to "bring dry, damaged and thirsty hair back to life". Contains a blend of vitamin E and omega-6 and 9 and castor oil that replenish the hair’s natural oils without weighing it down.

Curl Cleanse Cleansing Conditioner (£34) is for textured hair and curly, coarse, thick hair. A deeply nourishing cream co-wash that refreshes and defines all hair textures without weighing it down. Contains up-cycled jackfruit, a sustainable zero-waste ingredient from a tropical tree fruit grown in Asia tames frizz, while smoothing, defining and nourishing the hair and scalp. Watercress, sage leaf and velvet flower extracts enrich the hair with vitamins and minerals for a healthy, shiny finish.

Deeper Love Intense Conditioning Mask (£48) promises "an instant transformational hair fix" for dry, damaged, over-worked and over-processed hair. The 'one-and-done' mask is packed with resilience-boosting, strengthening ingredients, including the ceramide-like molecule RepHairTM that reinforces the hair fibre instantly. CrodabondTM seals down damaged hair cuticles and seals split ends.

All products are vegan, cruelty-free and dermatologically tested and come in packaging made from at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.
