Sephora is opening not one but two new stores in the North East, having now announced the Metrocentre in Gateshead as its second location in the region.

On the back of consumer demand, the 6180 sq ft Metrocentre space will open alongside a 6515 sq ft store at Newcastle's Eldon Square in autumn 2024, which was previously announced last month.

Both stores promise to offer local customers an "unparalleled" shopping experience through their portfolio of products across makeup, travel, fragrance, skincare, haircare, grooming and wellness, including a "stellar" line-up of exclusive brands.

This includes Makeup by Mario, GXVE by Gwen Stefani, Haus Labs and Sephora Collection, amongst others.

In addition, customers will be able to get their hands on viral beauty products from the likes of Glossier, Rare Beauty and Glow Recipe.

The beauty playgrounds of these new stores will also provide in-store beauty services. From on-the-go treatments to a full-hour complete 'Glam Look', Sephora’s team of beauty advisors will offer an array of bookable services across makeup, skincare, hair and brows.

Sarah Boyd, Managing Director at Sephora UK, said: "Continuing our trend of listening to our customers and where they want to see us open, we heard the beauty community of the North East loud and clear when they asked us to open in the area.

"Opening not one but two amazing beauty playgrounds at the same time is a bold step, and one we have great confidence in.

"We are excited to welcome all the beauty lovers of the region to our stores and to create an iconic moment for retail in the North East."

Since announcing its planned return to the UK market, LVMH-owned Sephora has opened retail stores in Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City, with plans to make its northern city debut in Manchester's Trafford Centre this spring.
