Sephora is today opening the doors to its new store at The Trafford Centre in Manchester, marking the beauty retailer's debut in the North of England and third location in the UK.

The new store promises an "immersive and unparalleled" shopping experience for beauty enthusiasts in the region.

Similar to its existing UK stores, the space boasts an extensive selection of products across makeup, skincare, haircare, fragrance and wellness, including a line-up of exclusive brands.

This includes Glossier, Makeup by Mario, GXVE by Gwen Stefani, Haus Labs and Sephora Collection, amongst others.

It also features a 'Beauty Hub' at the heart of the store, offering a range of beauty services and treatments performed by in-house experts, as well as categorised areas and curated product displays.

The store’s façade boasts Sephora's iconic black and white stripes, whilst the interior follows the distinctive codes of its existing stores with soft geometric shapes, ambient lighting and textured finishes.

Sarah Boyd, Managing Director for Sephora UK, said: "We are extremely excited to bring Sephora to Manchester, one of the most vibrant cities for beauty in the UK.

"Expanding our presence beyond London is something that consumers have been screaming out for, and we are listening hard to them when deciding where to go next!

"The Trafford Centre, known for its iconic atmosphere and diverse retail offering, is the perfect location for our third store."

The opening demonstrates Sephora's commitment to bringing its offer to diverse communities across the UK, recognising the "pivotal role" that major regional cities like Manchester play in shaping and influencing the beauty industry landscape.

The new location was selected following an influx of requests and enthusiasm across the retailer's social media platforms, with Manchester emerging as the top city requested by its followers.

It comes as Sephora plans to open other additional stores across the UK, following its first two openings in London last year.

The retailer recently revealed it is also opening not one but two new stores in the North East, including at the Metrocentre in Gateshead and Newcastle's Eldon Square later this year.

Sephora originally left the UK market in 2005, having opened a handful of stores. In 2021, as a prelude to its return, the retailer acquired Feelunique in a £132 million deal.

It then took over Feelunique's former website and launched in the UK online in 2022, later opening stores at Westfield London in March 2023 and Westfield Stratford City in November 2023.
