Sephora names new President for Europe and Middle East
Sephora has appointed Catherine Spindler as President of its Europe and Middle East operations, effective 27 January.
Spindler will join the beauty giant's global leadership team and report to Guillaume Motte, President and CEO. She succeeds Sylvie Moreau, who has held the role since September 2021.
"Catherine's mission will be to continue writing Sephora's growth trajectory in Europe and the Middle East with our talented teams, gaining market shares in this historic region for Sephora," said Motte in an internal memo seen by WWD.
"She will keep elevating our brand and our customer's experience across all touchpoints of our journey, while reinforcing loyalty. She will bring her strong international omnichannel retail experience, gained at Vente-Privée and Lacoste, and her recognised leadership skills."
Spindler joins Sephora from Lacoste, where she has served as Deputy CEO since September 2022. Prior to this, she was Chief Brand Officer at the French luxury fashion brand.
She also brings experience from Vente-Privée Group, first as CMO and later as its Managing Director for the French market.
The news comes as Sephora UK, which is led by Sarah Boyd as Managing Director, plans to open 20 stores in the region as the beauty retailer strengthens its bricks-and-mortar presence.
Guillaume Motte wants to double the size of the business in Britain by launching new shops as well as expanding its online channel.
