Sephora reveals opening date for first store in Wales

Sephora has confirmed the opening date for its debut store in Wales, with the new location set to welcome customers on 23 October at St David’s Centre, Cardiff.

The store marks a key step in the retailer’s expansion and is the first Sephora UK location to open outside of England.

The Cardiff store will offer a wide selection of local and global beauty brands across categories including makeup, skincare, haircare, fragrance, grooming, and wellness.

As part of this, shoppers can expect to find popular names such as Makeup by Mario, Haus Labs, Tarte Cosmetics, Tower 28, Topicals, and Sephora's own Sephora Collection.

In addition to product offerings, the store will feature beauty treatments and services, ranging from makeup application and skincare consultations to hairstyling and brow services.

Since opening its first UK store in 2023, Sephora has experienced growing demand from consumers across the country. The Cardiff store is described as a "significant step" in bringing its retail experience to a broader UK audience.

Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, said: "Opening our first UK store outside of England is a huge milestone for Sephora, and we’re incredibly excited to be coming to Cardiff. We know the Welsh beauty community has been patiently waiting for us, and we’re pleased to share that we will be opening on 23 October at St David's."

To celebrate the opening, Sephora is rolling out a new "Beauty Bonus Card" system. First introduced at the Manchester Arndale launch earlier this year, the initiative replaces the traditional "first in line" model, allowing more customers to participate in opening weekend celebrations.

Instead of overnight queuing, every customer who makes a purchase during the opening weekend will receive a Beauty Bonus Card, offering the chance to win prizes such as full-size products, exclusive discounts, and goodie bags.

The Cardiff location joins a growing list of Sephora stores in cities across the UK such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Gateshead, Kent, and Sheffield.

Sephora UK’s expansion also continues this autumn, with a new store set to open in Oxford before the end of the year.
