SkinSense, the lamellar-based skincare line from skin expert and entrepreneur Abi Cleeve, has launched FOR HIM, an edit of products designed specifically to tackle common male skin concerns.

FOR HIM comprises a simple three-step routine including Instant Refresh Cleanser (£22, 100ml), Longwear Daily Moisturiser (£32, 50ml) and Super Comfort Eye Cream (£24, 15ml). Each item contains a two-month supply of product.

The formula features a stable, high concentration of active ingredients locked in with Lamellar structures, designed to tackle the common male skin concerns of tightness. compromised skin barrier, excess oil, dryness, dullness, razor burn/bumps/in-grown hairs, redness, and sun damage.

FOR HIM is purposefully simple and hassle-free in its approach to encourage daily use and help avoid the issues that can arise from a lack of consistency in skincare use. It has also been designed to allow for customers to add a serum step, which they can choose from the brand's main unisex skincare line that features products targeting specific concerns such as pigmentation, radiance and texture.

Active ingredients in the FOR HIM edit include: Hydagen Aquaporin to help stimulate the movement of water content between skin cells; Polyplant Marine Extract to soothe and calm sensitive skin and smooth rough skin; Niacinimide to strengthen the skin barrier; Glycolic Acid to gently exfoliate; and Black Pepper Seed for its antioxidant properties.

SkinSense founder Abi Cleeve, who is also known for her work in UV protection with Ultrasun which she brought to the UK, said of the launch: "Through my work with Ultrasun, I’ve seen the reluctance and challenge to be consistent that men sometimes feel with skincare, which is why I introduced clear SPF gels to encourage UV protection – the most important skin decision for us all.

"Whilst all our products are of course unisex, when I launched SkinSense in 2017, I also began working on the easiest product edit for men, containing targeted ingredients for more commonly male concerns that get the job done with minimal effort, leaving room for the serum step to be slotted in bespoke. I’m delighted the trio are ready to launch!”

Cleeve, also a familiar face on QVC, has based her SkinSense line on lamellar technology, which is comprised of fine, alternating layers that form an even bond with the skin, delivering antioxidants that the skin needs to fight external aggressors on a daily, even hourly, basis by taking them deeper into the skin. These structures enable the high-quality and healthy ingredients to remain within the skin’s layers for up to 10 hours.

“For over two decades I have been working with the latest technological advancements in skincare. With Ultrasun, lamellar technology allowed us to achieve long-lasting UVA and UVB protection. This was when I questioned: why we can’t do the same with hydration, targeted skin strengtheners and the highly active ingredients we all want in our skin day and night," explained Cleeve.

Cleeve describes SkinSense as common sense for the skin. The range comprises four lines: Signature offering targeted high potency ingredients to address the most common skin concerns from pigmentation, loss of firmness and fine lines; Hydrant to deliver long lasting moisture and comfort to thirsty skin with slow release, active hydration; Ceramide24 for restoring and repairing the lipid barrier with slow-release ceramides; and Anti-Pigmentation Perfecting, a three-ingredient approach to mitigating existing pigmentation and preventing future instances.

The range is available from SkinSense.co.uk, QVC and Fenwick.
