Spring Fair boasts successful opening day
Spring Fair, the wholesale marketplace for homeware, gift and fashion, is celebrating a successful opening day, which saw thousands of retail buyers and owners of independent stores attend the event at NEC Birmingham.
As the largest and longest running wholesale marketplace for home, gift and fashion, the fair is spread across eight halls and open until Wednesday 9 February.
Fashion trade show Moda has settled into the Spring Fair, offering retailers a diverse fashion buying destination with a line-up of womenswear, jewellery, accessories, footwear and sustainable brands.
The return of the Moda catwalk was also welcomed by visitors, which featured an edit of looks including the playful and colourful Childhood Dreams, the urban traveller Off The Grid edit and glam 70s style metallic Liquid Metal trends, as well as sponsored looks from Jayley, Saloos, and One Hundred Stars.
Also featured at the event, The Good Retail Awards 2022 commenced with the introduction of the Power of One Award, which recognises a business that has made one small change that has made a significant impact. Plastic-free beauty business Whitfords won for the creation of a sustainable, multi-purpose alternative to traditional packaging.
Julie Driscoll, Divisional Managing Director at Spring Fair and Moda, said: “The show was bustling all day, exhibitors are excited to be back and retailers have flocked to the show to return to face to face business and networking.
"We are still on a high after winning AEO’s Trade Show of the Century Award and feel genuinely proud to continue to successfully put on the UK’s largest and longest running trade show. We can’t wait for the next three days, for the start of Curated Meetings tomorrow and to see retail flourishing once again.”
