Superdrug has confirmed it will launch a series of virtual makeup masterclasses in collaboration with its charity partner Marie Curie.

The Superdrug x Marie Curie makeup masterclasses are part of the partnership's joint 2022 Make Up For Me Time campaign, which aims to support young people who have experience bereavement.

Celebrity makeup artist Eve Jenkins will host the exclusive tutorials, showcasing how makeup and self care can help make a difference with people who are coping with bereavement.

The first masterclass will be held on 8 August 2022, with Jenkins creating summer holiday themed looks.

The experience is open to 30 young people who have experience bereavement or are grieving. All attendees will receive a selection of Superdrug products in advance, so they can recreate the makeup looks.

The masterclass will also include the opportunity to hear from a Marie Curie Bereavement Coordinator and someone who has benefitted from Marie Curie services, giving attendees the chance to discuss their experiences and gain support.

Megan Potter, Trading Director of Superdrug, said: "We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Marie Curie and the success so far of our joint Make Up For Me Time campaign. We hope that these makeup masterclasses will offer some much-needed self care and support to young people coping with bereavement and grief, as we know the transformative power cosmetics can have on boosting mood."

Tom Heron, Head of Partnership Management at Marie Curie, said: "Going through a bereavement is hard for everyone and it's never been more important for younger people experiencing grief for the first time to be able to access the right information, support and held when going through these challenging times. We hope the masterclasses will provide a moment of self care and support, giving some much-needed me time."
