British high street veteran, Superdrug, has commenced its 60th birthday celebrations with a plethora of in-store experiences and promotions as well as bringing back discontinued 90s makeup.

Founded in 1964 by Ronald and Peter Goldstein, with the first-ever Superdrug store opening on Putney High-street 60 years ago, the brand now boasts 800 stores on its roster nationwide. Superdrug is now a go-to destination for a wide array of skincare, makeup, fragrances, and health products.

Starting today, Superdrug kicks off celebrations with Health & Beauty Card Members saving 60% off Superdrug Own Brand and Exclusive ranges such as the Garnier Skin Summer Body line. VIP Reward subscribers will be able to enjoy exclusive 60th birthday treats such as Superdrug Birthday Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and extra points to spend online and in-store. Stores across the country will also be offering make-up artist and hair stylist appointments, live in-store DJs and celebrity visits.

Simon Comins, Superdrug’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: "From our humble beginnings on Putney high-street to becoming a nationally recognised brand, 60 years is an incredible landmark for us. We are looking forward to celebrating our birthday with our customers as we know without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today."

During the promotional period (22 May-18 June), the retailer transforms into a fairy godmother with the ‘Wish Upon a Superdrug Star’ scheme. Shoppers will need to keep their eyes peeled across the nation for a chance to spot a Superdrug Star and make a wish to win a prize, which could be a full product range, an experience, or big points bundles.

What’s more, Superdrug will be taking a look back through the decades with an exclusive campaign shoot, featuring social sensation Princess Andre, Louise Boyce and other key influencers to showcase the evolution of beauty looks over the past 60 years.

If that wasn't enough, beauty mavens will be overjoyed to hear cult classics, such as 90’s must-have Rimmel’s Heather and Coffee Shimmer lipsticks, will be back on shelves for a limited time. Not only this, but Superdrug's own brand has created a limited edition birthday range that'll hit shelves alongside old favourites.

All promotions and offers for the 60th Birthday will be available both in-store and online starting today.
