British health and beauty retailer, Superdrug has launched its own affordable fabric face masks available to buy online and in store.

Superdrug is offering customers the option of a reusable mask so shoppers feel safe and comfortable to browse their stores.

The high street chain already offers disposable, nonmedical grade face masks online and in store but is now providing customers with a reusable option.

Superdrug's commercial director, Simon Comins said: "The launch coincides with government guidelines on the compulsory wearing of face coverings on public transport, which we fully support, and these reusable coverings offer an alternative to the disposable surgical masks we already have available in store."

The new face masks retail at £3 and feature three-layered fabric technology, which is water-repellent and certified antibacterial with a biocide finishing.

The middle layer has a 3D interlock fabric, which is targeted at reducing particle transfer, whilst remaining breathable.

The stretchy material allows for the mask to mould around the users face for maximum protection and comfort.

The masks is available in three colours: black, pink, and white and is also machine washable.

In June, Superdrug revealed its post-lockdown plans to help bolster beauty sales throughout the year.
