Superdrug has launched a nationwide recruitment drive, seeking 1,000 new Sales Assistants to join its stores ahead of what the retailer expects to be its "biggest festive season to date".

The high street beauty retailer is gearing up for a "record-breaking" Christmas, following strong trading in 2024 when December sales rose by 5.1% year-on-year. The additional hires will help support a surge in footfall over key shopping moments, including Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas

This year’s recruitment push comes as Superdrug continues to invest heavily in enhancing the in-store experience. In 2025, the retailer expanded its Beauty Playground concept to 30 stores nationwide - an interactive shopping experience designed to engage customers with product discovery, tutorials and social media-friendly zones.

Superdrug has also expanded its K-beauty offering, introducing a selection of leading Korean skincare brands both online and in selected stores, while continuing to innovate across its own-brand portfolio with trend-led launches in skincare, cosmetics and wellness.

While the newly announced positions are temporary, Superdrug said it remains committed to identifying and retaining top talent, with many seasonal employees going on to secure permanent roles within the business.

Amy Davies, People Director at Superdrug, said: "As we prepare for our biggest Christmas yet, we’re excited to welcome new colleagues into the Superdrug community. This year, we’ve continued to focus on enhancing the in-store experience for our customers. It’s an exceptional time to join our business.

"We’re looking for people who are passionate about customer service and eager to learn. In return, we offer one of the most competitive employment packages and training programmes in retail. Our teams are at the heart of our success, and we take pride in fostering a culture that is inclusive, supportive and driven by shared ambition."

Simon Comins, Chief Operating Officer at Superdrug, added: "Christmas is always a pivotal and exciting time for Superdrug, and these new roles will enable us to deliver our best festive season yet.

"Our stores are ready for the season, supported by continued investment in our existing portfolio through the innovative Beauty Playground format and the opening of new stores. We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and an enhanced shopping experience for every customer this Christmas."
