Tanning brand Amanda Harrington London announces closure

Tanning brand Amanda Harrington London has announced its closure. The brand will cease trading with immediate effect.

This decision was attributed to forced retail closures during the pandemic, combined with an increase in the cost of supplies post-Brexit leading to "untenable pressure" on the young company.

Founded in 2019, Amanda Harrington London specialised in luxury tanning products, helping customers achieve a "sunless natural-looking glow".

The brand was founded by Amanda Harrington, who first began her career as a makeup and body artist, where she amassed A-list clientele.

Looking ahead, Harrington will remain CEO and Founder of In Parlour, the at-home and on-demand beauty business, which will continue to offer her contouring tan service. She will also continue to provide expert advice to brands, bespoke services to her VIP network and insight on the beauty industry.

Commenting on the closure, Amanda Harrington said: "My team and I have loved every minute of creating the brand, building relationships with our amazing community, retail and e-tail partners, and working with our external suppliers with whom we have had such strong and enduring partnerships. Thank you for all your hard work. I value each and every one of you. I will take away the biggest gift, which is that you all loved the product enough to wear it, write about it and generally back it. For now, onwards we go."
