The Body Shop names Global Brand & Communications Director
The Body Shop has appointed Shimon Kalichman as its Global Brand & Communications Director.
Kalichman brings 25 years of beauty industry experience, covering senior brand marketing and communications roles with companies such as Unilever, Estée Lauder Companies and L’Occitane Group.
He first joined The Body Shop in 2025 in a consulting capacity before moving into this new role.
As the business sharpens its focus on ethical beauty, relevancy and sustainability, Kalichman will oversee the global brand narrative, helping to "strengthen its purpose‑led position and reinforce earned trust".
Commenting on his new appointment, Kalichman said: "There are very few brands in the world with The Body Shop's heritage, purpose and recognition.
"Joining at this stage of the journey, as the brand marks its 50th anniversary, is an exciting challenge and one I'm approaching with huge amounts of respect."
It comes as The Body Shop looks to re-engage customers following a challenging period for the brand. Once hailed as a pioneer in sustainability, the retailer has faced rising competition and weakening consumer sentiment in recent years, culminating in its entry into administration in February 2024.
Rescued by Aurea and now led by CEO Mike Janieta, The Body Shop is reconnecting with its heritage while embracing innovation for the future. This vision was exemplified by the launch of a tech-enabled store on London’s Oxford Street last year.
