The catalogue is making a comeback: but will it change the way you shop?
As a child of the eighties, I can clearly remember the heyday of the catalogue. Growing up on the Isle of Wight, they were a lifeline for fashion lovers who wanted more than the measly offering from the only local high street (a sparsely stocked Marks & Spencer and very small Dorothy Perkins).
While my mum was more of a Next Directory woman, my neighbour’s mum was all about Freemans. Our favourite time of year was when her new catalogue arrived with a thud on the doormat.
